I am dusting off the old Toys R Us images today to announce that there will be a new stand-alone Toys R Us storefront open just in time for the holiday shopping season in Springfield, Missouri.
Where will the new Toys R Us store be located?
The new standalone store will be located inside the Battlefield Mall. It will be taking over the former Forever 21 store in the west pavilion near the food court.
Opening Date
We do not have a confirmed opening date, but we expect it to be ahead of Thanksgiving. The signage is already up in the windows!
Will this be a full sized location?
The new stores are being opened in partnership with Go! Retail Group, which already operates Go! Games and Calendars in many malls and shopping centers. These are smaller than the stores you may remember, but they have a great selection of popular items.
There is already a Toys R Us department at Macy’s, will it remain open?
At this time, there are no publicly announced plans to close the Toys R Us locations in Macy’s stores.
Can I shop Toys R US online?
The Toys R Us website has remained operating over the years. You’ll be able to shop a large selection of favorites.
Are there any larger stores open?
Check our TikTok for a tour of the large location at the Macy’s State Street Flagship store in Chicago. There are also large stores located at the Mall of America and American Dream (Rutherford, NJ).
How many stand alone stores are there?
There are currently around 40 standalone and seasonal stores open with plans to open 120 more this year.
Will they have a Black Friday sale?
TRU Black Friday sales were once a magical shopping tradition that shoppers lined up for every year While there have been no announcements about bringing back those sales, the return of standalone and seasonal stores is an exciting development for nostalgic shoppers who hope to relive the magic.
