Giving Back Packs

For most children, the beginning of a school year signifies a fresh start.  Everything is new- the teacher, classmates, classroom, and supplies.  Most children bounce into class on the first day with a new outfit and bright, shiny new shoes, proud to show off their backpack and fill their desk.  The pride a child feels on the first day of school can set the tone for the entire year.

Unfortunately, many children don’t have new things to start the school year.  Some don’t even have the needed supplies to get through the first day. I always stock up on school supplies and backpacks during the end of season clearances to donate to kids in need and share with my teacher friends.

This year, I am fortunate enough to be working with FIJI Water, Wonderful Pistachios, and Wonderful Almonds to help more students transition back to school!  These amazing sponsors have provided a backpack, Wonderful Almonds, Wonderful Pistachios, FIJI Water, and a gift card to purchase school supplies.  This will not only provide a child with supplies, but also with healthy snacks that will keep them focused on their schoolwork.

Want to help?  You can make a difference in a child’s entire school year for a very minimal expense.  Basic school supplies are inexpensive to purchase, and grade level supply lists can easily be found on a school’s website and in the school supply section of most department stores.  There are many local organizations that will collect and distribute supplies, so that you can donate as your budget allows.

If you have a child in school, check with his or her teacher to see if there are any classmates in need and what you can do to help.

Make sure to hop on over to Madame Deals and see the backpacks that all of the other bloggers and sponsors have provided!
