In an unexpected change of events, Amazon has announced that they will be offering free standard shipping (3-5 days) on all orders that are fulfilled by Amazon this season to compete with other retailers such as Target and Best Buy. Prime Members will still receive free 2-day shipping on any order, along with free same day and 1-day shipping on eligible orders.
As a Prime member, this is a bit frustrating, but I can understand why the decision was made. Many of us are up for renewal in November/December, and I may let mine lapse for just a bit so that the ever growing fee doesn’t hit right in the heart of the holiday season.
