We’re getting very, very close to seeing the online sales kick off, but many of you are new to the online Black Friday shopping world! I’d like to take a few minutes to answer some questions you might have.
Frequently Asked Questions
1. Which stores will offer online sales? Almost every store that puts out a Black Friday ad will have some sort of online Black Friday sale.
2. When will the sales begin? That’s a little tricky. Some stores will kick off on Sunday night, but the majority will be late Wednesday night into Thursday morning. We’re up 24/7 watching for them. Some stores will release their sale times, but those are at the mercy of technology and can be delayed by several hours. Most sales do happen in the overnight hours, typically between 10:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m.
All online sales will be done and over with before the actual Black Friday shopping starts. By structuring it this way, stores get another shot at your shopping dollars. They don’t want them to coincide and limit your spending.
3. Does it matter what time zone I’m in? No. Websites are updated simultaneously, regardless of your time zone. If it’s announced that a sale goes live at 11:00 EST, you should be ready at 10:00 if you’re in CST, 8:00 for PST, etc.
4. Which items from the ad will be available online? This is something else that we don’t always get much of a heads up on. Each year, more and more items are available online, including doorbusters. Last year, Walmart had almost every item available online, even the socks!
5 How will we know what’s available and when? We will post announcements on the main Extreme Christmas Savings Facebook group as well as here. We also have a subgroup for each store that we post direct links to each deal as we find them (view the links at the end of this post).
Make sure to get signed up for text alerts as outlined here so that you don’t miss a sale or waste time watching!
6. Do you have any tricks to purchase multiple items? There are different tricks for each store and we’ll be posting them in each of the main store groups (see below). These items will sell out VERY quickly. I recommend checking out as quickly as possible with each item. There’s no time to shop around!
What you can do to prepare:
1. Sign up for text alerts in theExtreme Christmas Savings Facebook group for immediate notification when the sales go live.
2. Register for an account with each store (if you don’t already have one) and link any rewards cards you have to it. If you do have one, make sure your payment information and billing/shipping addresses are correct.
3. Check your credit cards to see if any are offering cash back or rewards at specific stores and make sure to link that card.
4. Make a list of all items you’d like to watch for, including item number if possible. This will help speed up searching.
5. Stock up on your favorite coffee or wine, it will be a long week!
