The Super Nintendo Classic Edition (sometimes known as the SNES Classic or Super NES Classic), is one of the most highly anticipated releases of the year. Given the success of the NES Classic release in November 2017, we expect this to be a sell-out item. Nintendo has said that there will be plenty of stock to go around, but I’m not quite willing to take that to the bank.
Although the official release date is September 29th, 2017, many of the online retailers will go live before midnight. We expect to start seeing some action around 10:00 p.m. CST. You can see our current predictions below, and we’ll be updating in our Extreme Christmas Savings Facebook Group as more information becomes available.
We’ll be live broadcasting all price drops in the Extreme Christmas Savings Facebook Group, just like last year, when many of our members had plenty of time to snag a handful of these.
What is the SNES Classic?
This is a mini version of the Super Nintendo that many of us grew up with. The SNES is preloaded with games and is modified to work with current televisions. The retail price is $79.99 and we do not expect to find a discounted price on this item.
What is included?
Unlike it’s predecessor, the SNES Classic includes TWO controllers (they are also longer than the 3′ that was included with the NES Classic)! It is also loaded with 21 games, including the never released Starfox 2.

For the NES Classic release in 2017, Amazon was actually the latest to go live at 4:00 p.m. on the release date. They heavily advertised the release and time, which made it nearly impossible to snag one. We expect something similar to happen this year.

Best Buy will NOT be opening at midnight for the release. If you are planning to visit the store, expect to get in line in accordance with your store’s normal operating hours

Although the NES Classic was slated to go live at 2:00 a.m. CST, Target ran a little behind and it went around 2:40 a.m. CST. Target is the most finicky with start times- most other stores will start on the hour.

Make Sure To Use These Tips to Get Ready and Better Your Chances
TIPS:
1. Be online early! These are going to sell out fast, the last thing you need is a browser freeze or reboot.
2. Ditch the wifi. Your connection will be slightly faster when tethered directly, and that may make all of the difference.
3. Use multiple devices. Grab your phone, ipad, Kindle, computer- whatever else you have. You can try from multiple devices or have a backup if one locks up.
4. TURN ON YOUR AMAZON ONE-CLICK! You won’t have time to add to your cart, then complete the checkout process. Hit your one-click button the second you see it’s in-stock.
5. Make sure you have registered and are LOGGED IN to all of the stores boasting a release! Verify that your credit card information is updated and correct. Remember- items in your cart aren’t yours until you’ve completed the checkout. Don’t get CARTJACKED!
